HEROIC HEARTS

SUPPORTING VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES

Over 2 million children in the U.S. have at least one parent who is a veteran.

About

mission statement

Our mission is to honor the sacrifices of military families by providing healing, growth, and connection. Through hands-on workshops and guided workbooks, we support veterans navigating life after service and children who have lost loved ones in the military, helping them build resilience, find community, and create a path forward with hope.

About the Founder

Sienna Lawton

Hi! My name is Sienna Lawton, and I am the creator of Heroic Hearts. I come from a proud military family with generations of Army veterans, and growing up in this environment has given me a deep respect for the sacrifices made by service members and their families, as well as an understanding of the challenges that come with military life. As a high school student,  I wanted to create something meaningful that could support others. That’s why I developed a youth workbook and began leading workshops to help veterans adjusting to life after service, as well as children who have lost loved ones in the military. My goal is to provide a space for healing, resilience, and connection while honoring the legacy of those who served. This project is deeply personal to me, and I’m excited to continue growing it and making a positive difference in the lives of military families.

98 Fund Inspiration

The 98 Fund was founded by graduates of the West Point Class of 1998 to support the families of fallen soldiers through a retreat in Alaska. They believed the most meaningful tribute to their classmates who gave their lives in service was to ensure the well-being of their families.

The 98 Fund’s mission is threefold: to assist classmates who returned from combat changed by their experiences, to create opportunities for children to preserve and honor the memory of their parent(s), and to remain ready to meet new and unforeseen needs that arise in the ever-changing landscape of military service.

One of its signature initiatives, The Alaska Project, is designed to bring together families of the fallen, veteran support organizations, and volunteers. Through week-long experiences in the breathtaking setting of Alaska, participants honor their loved ones with daily memorials, build lasting connections, and take part in meaningful projects at the retreat site.
